Milton Berle is one of the most recognizable names in comedy history, coining the nickname “Mr. Television.” Berle got his start in Vaudeville as a child performer, and later became a household name through his radio shows in the 1930s and 40s. He became the host of “Texaco Star Theater” in 1948, showcasing the natural comedic talent, memorable characters and slapstick banter that he's so known for. He played a large role in shaping the early days of TV, with such hit shows as “The Milton Berle Show” and “Kraft Music Hall.” He was a founding member of the Friars Club of Beverly Hills and became a popular Las Vegas act, performing in casinos such as Caesars Palace and the Desert Inn.
