Collection: Lucille Ball

Comedy was never the same after Lucille Ball stepped on the scene. Her career spanned over six decades as a comedian, actress and producer and paved the way for women in entertainment to rise up. She worked as a model and actress in films in the 1930s, but her real success came in 1951 when her and then-husband Desi Arnaz created “I Love Lucy,” one of the most influential TV shows of all time. She co-founded Desilu Productions with Arnaz, becoming the first woman to head a major television studio. Her success continued to flourish, creating several more TV shows including “The Lucy Show, “Here’s Lucy” and “Life With Lucy.” In addition, Desilu Productions was responsible for such legenadary TV hits as "The Untouchables", "Mission: Impossible" and "Star Trek". Lucy also hosted a radio show in 1964 called “Let’s Talk To Lucy” where she interviewed some of the biggest names in entertainment including Carol Burnett, Frank Sinatra, Barbra Streisand, “I Love Lucy” co-star Vivian Vance and many more. Both the Lucy and Desi Museum and the National Comedy Center are located in Ball's hometown of Jamestown, NY. There's no doubt that Ball left her mark on pop culture and women in entertainment, and her work continues to be celebrated by generations of fans.
